Luca's going to be famous!

So, I forgot to mention in my last post that Luca is going to be famous! Next week's edition of the Ponoka News will feature "The Babies of 2006" and of course, Luca's picture will be there! So, if you have access to the Ponoka News (I think Rimbey does) on Wednesday, February 14th, be sure to pick up a copy! For those of you that can't get it, I will scan it and post it sometime next week.

Luca is sick AGAIN. Sigh. It has been about 6 weeks now that he has been getting better, then catching another strain of a cold. Right now he has a very wet, barking cough and a runny nose. Of course, this means no sleep for anyone in the house. Oh, Joy! I am getting really tired of this cycle. The only way I know how to stop it is to stop spending time with those that are always sick, too. Unfortunately, this might mean dropping out of play group for a while....

Well, off to sterilize some toys to try to kill the germs.

Sigh. (yes, again)

sorry to hear of the cycle of sickness. Hopefully, he is better again soon - for a longer time.

I'll look forward to seeing Luca's "famous" photo!

I think that the key is to stay away from other kids that are always sick. He is getting the same colds that others have had, and then he spends time with them and, what do you know, a few days later he is sick with the same thing. So, we will be staying away from them for a while to give Luca's body a chance to fully recover and to feel normal again for more than a few days.

We are going on another night of only a few hours sleep. When Luca wakes up, it is taking at least 2 hours for him to get to sleep again. He coughs, then cries because it hurts and wakes him up, then he begins to fall asleep and coughs again. It is a vicious cycle, and to be quite honest, I am spent. If Chris wasn't home, I don't know how I would eb coping right now.

I think that the past few weeks have been my most challenging as a mother so far...

sick babies are hard on moms on two levels - it is so hard to see the baby feel so rotten and not be able to do anything about it, and then, to top it off, the lack of sleep wears on us physically.

Thank God for a good husband/father to help during these times.

Good choice to stay away from "playgroup" for awhile. Let his immune system get its strength back.

We'll be thinking of/praying for all of you over the next few days. Hopefully, a day or two and Luca will be back to normal.

We sometimes get the Ponoka paper here, I'll have to watch for it this week.

That reminds me when Liz was in the paper. She was on the last page with some of her friends from school. I was looking at the picture and though that it was cool that her friends were in the picture. It took me a couple minutes to actually see that it was Liz in the picture. lol Stupid Daddy.
