Posting comments

I have had a few people say that they can't post comments because it requires you to sign in- It actually doesn't, you just need to click on "other". You can put your name in the spot that comes up that says "name" (interesting....) and write your comment in the comment box.

I guess there has been some confusion as to how to post a comment. Maybe now people can leave more comments so I know that this page is actually being viewed...hint, hint! :)

Luca moves out

Last night Luca slept in his bedroom for the first time! This was a huge step for Mommy- my baby felt so far away from me even though he was only down the hall. But, I actually think that everyone slept better this way. Luca was only up once to eat and once to just be tucked back in and he fell right back asleep.

Luca's first camping trip!

This weekend we took Luca on his first camping trip. The weather turned out to be beautiful- quite a contrast to how it has been the past few weeks.

We weren't sure that it would stay nice, though, so we stuck close to home. We ended up going to Gull Lake. Only about half an hour away in case we needed to come home early. But, everything went great and we actually didn't want to leave on Sunday.

We were glad to have the trailer- I never would have taken Luca in just a tent. We had power and were able to have a little electric heater. We were toasty warm!

Luca did wonderfully- the fresh air was great for him and he slept well, and played hard! My Mom and Dad came out to visit on Saturday, that was nice. We went for a long walk on the hiking trails and worked up an appetite for hot dogs! Yum!

We are looking forward to next summer when we will be camping as often as possible.

Being sick sucks!!!!

Luca had his first cold last week. The poor little guy didn't know what was going on- he was basically in a daze for a few days. He just wanted to cuddle, eat or sleep. There wasn't much playing on the agenda. He seems to be feeling quite a bit more like himself now, though.

Donovan is getting to be more curious of Luca. He wants to play with him and hug and kiss him. I missed getting the kiss, but Donovan hugged Luca long enough for me to get a good picture. I think that when Luca gets a bit more active, they will be a pair of busy little boys!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Tom!

Happy Birthday, Tom! We hope that you are having a great time in Ottawa at school and that you aren't too homesick. We miss you and wish we could all be with you for you birthday. Take care.

(For those of you others reading this, sorry that some posts are a bit boring for you, but we currently have 2 members of the family away, and this is a relatively easy means of communication.)

The Calgary Zoo!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the Calgary Zoo. Chris had a few days off, so we decided to spend our 4th wedding anniversary at the zoo.

Luca slept most of the day, of course. As you can see, he got tired of looking at all the animals and pulled his hat down over his eye for some sleep. :) But, he was perfectly behaved- when he was awake, he was content to look around, or he slept in the stroller.

We also went to Okotoks to visit with Chris' mom and grandma. They hadn't seen Luca since he was a week old, so it was nice to visit with them, and they were happy to get to see how much Luca has changed.

It was a busy day, but a wonderful one. Today we are off to pick up the holiday trailer that we bought- we are hoping to get a weekend of camping in at the end of the month before it gets too cold!
