Another big day

Luca is now 2 calendar months old- I can see a big change in him, especially in these pictures. He can now hold his head up, and he is smiling often, among other big changes.

He had his immunizations today. I think that the experience was more traumatic for me than for him- seeing him afraid and in pain broke my heart. I am dreading the next appointment in October.

He is still growing like a weed although it has slowed down a bit. He is in the 97th percentile for weight at 14lbs 13oz. His height is at the 75th percentile at 23.25 inches. A big boy!

A big day...for Mommy

Today was a big day for me. Today was the first time that I left Luca with anyone besides his Daddy. He stayed with Chris' sister, Jacquie for about 1/2 an hour while I dropped my car off at VW for servicing. It was tough to get out the door and I got a little teary, but once I was out of the house I was ok. Luca didn't seem to mind. When I left, he was happy and smiley and when I got back he was snuggled up with Jacquie sleeping. I knew that he would be fine, it was harder on me than it would have been on him.

Luca, my teddy bear

I put Luca in this basket to take a picture ( I thought it would be cute) and he absolutley LOVED it! He was smiling and laughing the whole time. I think that he would have stayed there all morning if I would have let him. He is such a good natured, easy going kid.

I venture into the world of blogging...

I have finally decided to start a blog after being addicted to reading the Hutchinson family's blogs (thanks, guys!). I figured that this was an easier way for people to view pictures instead of downloading them- especially for those still on dial-up! And, when Daddy is away, he can still easily see his little boy! :)

Anyway, Luca is 8 weeks old now and is changing every day. He smiles, laughs and coos a lot- he is such a happy boy! The first picture in the blanket is from Donovan's 1st birthday party on August 12, and the others are from this past week. Notice Luca's belly button is exposed- Chris was tickling his belly button and he was laughing like it was the best thing on earth! Luca's laughter is music to my ears!
